A short story that bridges the Bend-Bite-Shift Trilogy to the upcoming For Love of Fae Trilogy.

When Olivia Hardin began having strange movie-like dreams in her teens, she had no choice but to begin putting them to paper. Before long the writing bug had her and she knew she wanted to be a published author. Several rejections plus a little bit of life later, and she was temporarily "cured" of the urge to write. That is until she met a group of talented and fabulous writers who gave her the direction and encouragement she needed to get lost in the words again.
Olivia's attended three different universities over the years and toyed with majors in Computer Technology, English, History and Geology. Thenl one day she heard the term road scholar and she knew that was what she wanted to be. Now she "studies" anything and everything just for the joy of learning. She's also an insatiable crafter who only completes about 1 out of 5 projects, a jogger who hates to run, and she's sometimes accused of being artistic.
A native Texas girl, Olivia lives in the beautiful Lone Star state (Texas) with her husband, Danny and their puppy, Bonnie.

Witch Way Bends (Book 1)

I really liked this story. The characters were unique and the story was unique.

The book is about a girl, Devan, who meets a group of magical mercenaries. Devan is unsure of why they want her with them, but it doesn't take long for her to figure it out. Strange things begin to happen and she is unsure of what to think about it. Not only that, one of the mercenaries, Kent, is drawn to her and she to him. She can't explain it nor does she want to. To make things stranger, a familiar voice comes back to her after so long of being gone. With everything happening around her, her body begins to change and so does her mind on the fact that magic doesn't exist. Her life begins to unfold and her past comes to light in more ways than one.

I really like Devan's character. She is strong and logical. When the magic within her begins to surface, at first, she is very much against it and fights it. But, with a little help from a new found friend, Langston, she comes into her magic with ease. She is instantly attracted to Kent and I knew it wouldn't be long before things began to heat up between the two. Once it did, things really began to take off.

Kent has a lot of secrets too. His secrets begin to come to light at the same time as Devan's. They share so much with each other because of the love they have between the two of them. Kent is a lethal character. I like that he is strong willed and head strong where Devan seems to get lost in the power she is encompassing.

This is a very quick story. I read it in a matter of a few hours. There is some really good action towards the end although I think the villains went a little too quickly. The story moves rather quickly and as everything begins to come into focus, the story rights itself and makes a lot more sense.

A very good book. It was fast-paced, interesting, and kept me involved. I enjoyed the characters and felt like they could be built upon in later books because they are solid. The writing was solid and the author did a good job of making the transitions through the book seamless. 4 out of 5 stars.
Bitten Shame (Book 2)
This book picks up right where Witch Way Bends ends. I am always wary of trilogies only because it seems if the author doesn't loose focus, then I do. But I can't say that for this trilogy. I won't say that this book is better than the first one, but it comes in a very close second.

This book is about a girl, Jill, who came to the aid of her best friend, Devan, when she needed her the most. Not only did she help save her life, she is starting to aid in bringing down the big, bad, "Org". How she became a vampire, fell in love, and lost her will to live all comes to light in this book.

What I love about this book is the jumping from past to present. Not only do we get some really good details of Jill's past and her love for "Doc", but we get what is going on in her present as well. There is so much emotion between Doc and Jill and it is a very tragic love story.

Now that Jill has rid herself of her Sire, she only continues to breath for her friend Devan and their quest to bring down the Org. Unfortunately, this is not the only thing Jill is trying to accomplish. She doesn't want to exist anymore. She doesn't want to continue breathing because of the breath being gone from her one and only true love.

There are some interesting twists and turns in this book. I love that the author was able to take the emotions between Doc and Jill and encapsulate them so that you could feel them throughout the book. Doc and Jill's love story, although tragic, is so endearing.

I have to say that finding out more about Jill's character did make me like her a whole lot more. I wasn't too thrilled with her in the first book only because she didn't seem like a viable piece of the puzzle. This book definitely fits to motto "All of it fits". 4 out of 5 stars.

Shifty Business (Book 3)

This book is the third and final installment in the trilogy. I was elated that Book 1 and 2 were so good so I knew without a doubt this one would be too. I was not wrong.

This book is about Gerry and Nicky's storyline. Gerry has always enjoyed being a mercenary for the Company and the next mission should have been a piece of cake. But, cake wasn't in her fortune. She is handed a box and he whole world begins to come crashing down. Someone is mentally attacking her and the only person who can save her is Nicky, but with a price. Is it worth it? As secrets are revealed, everything she holds dear comes in to question.

The book opens at an auction for children. While Gerry is working undercover at this auction, a little girl hands her a silver box. There is a familiar smell in the air that she knows only leads back to one person, Dysis. Dysis is Gerry's sister and they have always been able to communicate telepathically. But, as soon as she receives the box, Dysis begins attacking her mentally. She wants the box and will do anything to posses it. Gerry gives the box to Nicky to hide it.

The Company, the organization that Nicky and Gerry work for, cuts off their funds and all safe houses, forcing Nicky back to his roots in New Orleans. With no connection or support from his teammates, Nicky is left to discover how to awaken Gerry and find out who is attacking them and why.

I really liked this book, but by far, the first book was my favorite. I loved how the author tied in all of the books to each other and filled in all the holes from the first book. This book was a little slower paced than the others and I found myself skimming over paragraphs. I still enjoyed it and would recommend the trilogy to others who like paranormal romance books. 3 out of 5 stars.
