Where do I start? The story leads in fairly quickly. I am very pleased with the connection between Lily and Dominic. There is so much love between them and the author does such a wonderful job helping you connect that. Then tragedy strikes. Lily is then left to endure the world on her own without her mate...but she doesn't even realize how close her saviors really are. And how close to them she is.
The story progresses fairly quickly. There are a lot of twists and turns and surprises to keep you on the edge of your seat and makes it impossible to put the book down. Even when I was supposed to be working or taking care of the kids, I was still thinking about what was going to happen next!
The friendship between the future Mystical Kings and Queens develops rather quickly and the closeness they have is one to be desired. Man, I wish I had friends like them...or should I say like Ezra??? What were you thinking Scarlett?!?!?! Like I don't have enough book boyfriends tearing up my dreams!!! He is so scrumptiously yummy I want to devour him...but...what is the deal???? Scarlett, can there be anymore sexual tension between the two (and you know what I am talking about).???Just do it already!!! Man, I'm getting hot just thinking about it!!!
Then, all hell breaks loose as the Commoners open a can of whoop-@$$ on the Mysticals. Lets just say that there are two other people who are gonna feel what Lily felt when they regain consciousness and it is so sad!!! Why did this have to happen to both of them?? I know it is going somewhere, but WHY!!!???? My heart is breaking for them and there are tears rolling down my face as I write this...
Where does the story go?? I am unsure as the cliffhanger will leave you speechless...did I already mention I love, love, love, love, love this book??? Did I mention I LOVE it??? The banter between everyone (and I mean everyone) in this book had me balling tears from laughter!! I love the wittiness that Scarlett put in all of their characters! People probably thought I was nuts! But, I didn't care as secrets were revealed and I was rendered unavailable a number of times because I couldn't drag my eyes from the pages.
I have to say, Scarlett, you have outdone yourself. I am really looking forward to the next book and I don't say that lightly. I don't normally look forward to followups or sequels because usually something gets lost in them. But, I don't fear that happening with your unique ability to capture your readers with your masterly written and flawless carrying out of this story. I simply am on the edge of my seat with anticipation. I can't contain it!! I so want some more of Ezra!!! (I am so a sucker for a yummy male vampire...get it? I crack myself up!!) This book gets a very, very, very well deserved 5 out of 5 stars!!!!
